Bishop David Abioye Says Nigerian Leaders Denying Christian Genocide As Nigerians ‘Buried In Hundreds’

Prominent Nigerian Cleric, Bishop David Abioye has accused Nigerian leaders of ignoring what he described as a growing genocide against Christians across the country.

The General Overseer of the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly made the remarks during a sermon, where he condemned the continued silence of authorities amid widespread killings.

According to him, people are “being buried in hundreds,” yet those in power continue to deny the reality of the situation. He described such denial as wicked and driven by selfish interests.

Bishop Abioye said, “Information with facts can’t be thwarted. You see people being buried in hundreds and you said there is no genocide? What a wicked set of people!”

He added that while other forms of violence exist, the killing of Christians is clear and spreading gradually to other parts of the country.

“I agree that there are other people killed in other places for other reasons, but Christian genocide is very clear and gradually, it is eating down to the South. Southwest and Southeast, and many so-called leaders, for their personal interests, are claiming that it is not true,” he said.

The cleric expressed sadness over the lack of concern from political and community leaders, stressing that the silence only emboldens the perpetrators.

However, the Nigerian government has consistently dismissed these allegations, insisting that the security challenges in the country are not targeted at any specific religion but are the result of banditry, terrorism, and communal clashes.

Recall that U.S. Senator Ted Cruz recently raised similar concerns about the killing of Christians in Nigeria, urging international bodies to take stronger action against what he described as “a silent massacre.”
