According to a report by the Vanguard News on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Alhaji Bello Isa, the father of the late Bilyaminu Bello, who was killed by his wife, Maryam Sanda, has revealed in an interview that as a Muslim, he has accepted what happened to his son, Bilyaminu Bello, and he has forgiven Maryam Sanda and left Allah to be the judge.
He said, “As a Muslim, I have accepted what happened. I have forgiven her and left judgement to Allah.”
Alhaji Isa, Maryam’s father, said he had been quietly seeking her freedom after she was sentenced to death for murdering her husband. He requested Maryam’s release, citing her need to care for her two young children, and stated that executing her wouldn’t bring his son back.
He said that vengeance can’t bring back his son, but forgiveness can bring peace to his family, Maryam’s family, and the children, who’ve suffered enough. Others can express their opinions freely, but as the father, he leaves everything to God.
