In Ogun State, there exists a mysterious community where no one dares to wear a uniform of the police, military, or any security agency. Known as Igbomoku, the community, located in the eastern part of the state, is shrouded in taboos and ancestral restrictions said to have lasted for generations.
According to a report by TVC News from 3:30, despite the authority and respect that uniforms command across Nigeria, in Igbomoku, wearing one is forbidden. Residents say the act is seen as a direct violation of an ancient curse that forbids white men and anyone in uniform—be it police, military, or paramilitary, from entering the community.

LOCATED AT “ABUJA, LAGOS, OSUN
A visit to Igbomoku from Abeokuta through Sagamu, Ijebu, and other communities along the Ore expressway reveals a quiet and peaceful village. But beneath its calm surface lies a mystery that locals still hold in reverence.
Many residents acknowledge the taboo but admit they do not fully understand its origin. Some claim the story has been passed down from their ancestors without written records, preserved only through oral history and fear of retribution.
One indigene who spoke to TVC News said,
“This community was founded by our forefathers. It was a small village in the forest and they were living peacefully before they met some white men. Our forefathers welcomed them and took them to where they were doing their business in the village. They stayed together for a while before they had disagreement. And from then our forefathers laid a curse preventing white men or any security personnel from coming into the community. So police, the military or white men cannot come into this community.”
