Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dissolved his cabinet, relieving all commissioners and public office holders affected by the recent Supreme Court ruling on the state’s affairs of their duties.
The announcement was made on Wednesday through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, stating that the dissolution takes immediate effect.
Before the formal announcement, the governor held a private valedictory session with members of his cabinet at the Government House in Port Harcourt. The event also formed part of activities to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
During the session, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to the commissioners for their service and dedication to the growth and development of Rivers State over the past two years.
