Residents of Edo State were left in shock as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed a luxury hotel and arrested a group of suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys. According to reports, the young men had gathered at the hotel to celebrate and were seen throwing bundles of cash into a swimming pool while others dived in to pick the money. The wild display of wealth quickly caught attention, leading to the EFCC raid.
Eyewitnesses said the suspects were flaunting exotic cars, expensive drinks, and jewelry before the arrest. “They were making noise, throwing money everywhere as if it was nothing,” one resident said.
