According to report by Vanguard on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, has directed security personnel involved in counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations to take immediate action against armed criminals without waiting for additional approval.
He warned that any officer who refuses to engage terrorists or bandits under the excuse of awaiting orders would be regarded as collaborating with criminals.
