Paul Ibe, the Special Adviser on Media to the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has explained the reason why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not honoured Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olisa Agbakoba.
This came after the Senior Advocate of Nigeria was not among the people that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu honoured on Democracy Day.
In the post that Paul Ibe shared on his official X account on Saturday, June 13, 2026, he said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has refused to honour Olisa Agbakoba because he has been speaking truth to power.

He said the lawyer was one of the people who fought for democracy in Nigeria. Paul Ibe stated that Olisa Agbakoba deserves a national honour.
According to Paul Ibe on his official X account;
“Perhaps the reason Tinubu has refused to honour Agbakoba for his role in the June 12 struggle and the ouster of the military and ushering in of democratic rule is because the senior lawyer and patriot has been speaking truth to the government”.
