According to a report by The Sun on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in the 2027 general elections, has stated that the All Progressives Congress is currently experiencing a decline in its political strength and influence.
Speaking during an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, Kwankwaso maintained that the ruling party is facing internal dissatisfaction among its members.
He suggested that the situation reflects growing cracks within the party’s structure as political conditions evolve ahead of future elections.
He further explained that a significant number of individuals within the APC are no longer comfortable with the direction of the party.
According to him, this dissatisfaction could influence political alignments and participation in upcoming electoral processes.
Kwankwaso also indicated that some members of the ruling party may not remain fully committed to its activities.
He suggested that internal disagreements could lead to situations where some individuals might indirectly support opposition groups while still remaining within the party framework.
During the interview, he was asked about the possible level of electoral support shifting away from the APC, with a question framed around whether such movement could represent 30 per cent, 40 per cent, 50 per cent, or even 60 per cent of votes.
Favor As Higher Power? (The hidden truth) Some positions in life cannot be held or retained for long if you are not favored. Favor is higher power. You are not the only one desiring, deserving, connected, powerful or qualified. Some positions in life, opportunities, success, achievements, triumphs, selection, approvals, power and position, elevation, patronage, etc, are mainly through favor. Favor is silent, spiritual and higher power. For spiritual guidance, other solutions, call/Whatsapp Dr J.A. Faros on 07030514063. With God, all are possible.
Responding to broader concerns raised during the discussion, he made reference to the worsening security situation across different regions of the country, noting how insecurity has evolved from one region to another and affected various communities and security personnel.
He said: “Initially, insecurity was concentrated in the North-East, particularly Borno and Yobe. Then Boko Haram expanded. Now look at what is happening in the North-West, where bandits and terrorists have taken over many areas. People are being kidnapped on highways almost daily. Recently, even a senior military officer was abducted. Soldiers are not spared, police officers are not spared, and certainly civilians are not spared.”
