In a recent post on Facebook, Apostle Joshua Selman, founder of Eternity Network International (ENI), has stressed the importance of transformation in accurately interpreting the voice of God. Speaking during a recent teaching, Selman explained that many errors in prophetic expressions are a result of neglecting the renewal of the mind.
“The healthier your mind is, the more it can create the vocabulary expressions that interpret the light you have received,” Selman said. “If you understand this, you will know what happened, respectfully speaking, to the fathers of old. They received many things from God, but because they ignored transformation, they were not able to interpret the speakings of God with accuracy.”
He noted that while many received genuine revelations, their lack of scriptural grounding created room for inaccuracies. “So their prophetic actions came with a plethora of error. There was no purity in their interpretation because they ignored the place of transformation,” he added.
Selman emphasized the supremacy of God’s word in shaping believers’ understanding and guiding their spiritual communication. “For as long as we ignore the supremacy of the word, for as long as we do not contend for transformation, there will be gaps in our perceiving the will of God as far as spiritual communication is concerned,” he explained.

According to him, immersion in the word of God equips the mind with the right framework for discerning divine messages. “The more you immerse yourself in the word, the more you are giving your mind healthy scriptural tools with which to interpret the speakings, the light of God,” Selman noted.
He also cautioned against people who claim to hear from God without a deep foundation in scripture. “This is one of the reasons why I get concerned when people who do not respect the word claim they are hearing God and even claim they are hearing for others,” he warned. “The margin of error, I will not trust that hearing. Do you know why? Because the word of God is not the basis of your vocabulary composition. Chances are excellent that there will be gaps in your interpretation.”
