Their hope turned into frustration as the long wait ended without Fubara making an appearance.

Tension further heightened after it became clear that lawmakers in the state resumed sitting immediately, while the governor’s whereabouts remained unknown.
After waiting endlessly, many of his supporters, including some past local government chairmen, walked away from the Government House in anger and frustration.
Reacting to the situation, the state chairman of the ADC, Chief Amb. Leader Sampson, criticized the governor’s attitude, describing it as a clear act of disregard for his followers.
He claimed that Fubara’s action showed the heavy influence of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over his decisions, leaving his loyal base neglected and unappreciated.
According to Sampson, such behavior sends a troubling signal about the future of Rivers State but stressed that there is still hope if people make the right political choices.
He urged members of the Simplified Family to rethink their loyalty and align themselves with the ADC, a party he described as more committed to protecting the interests of ordinary citizens.
The ADC chairman called on the people to rise against what he termed political manipulation, advising them to safeguard their future by joining a platform that values their voices.
He encouraged Rivers people to embrace the ADC as a partner for growth, promising a future of fairness, opportunity, and collective progress for the state and Nigeria at large.
