The community of Gidan Mantau in Katsina State was struck by tragedy when armed bandits launched a deadly attack that killed 45 people and led to the abduction of 60 others.
The assault occurred in the early hours of the morning, as residents gathered for prayers. Many families were forced to flee for their lives as gunmen set houses ablaze.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, survivor Anas Mustapha described how he managed to escape with his wife and child.

“I climbed through the ceiling. I told my wife to hand me our baby. Then I also held a hand and we climbed up there. That was how we escaped,” he narrated.
Mustapha’s testimony underscores the desperate measures taken by families to survive the assault. His house was among those set on fire, leaving behind only ashes and painful memories.
