Rivers Judiciary announces dates for 2025 Christmas break

The Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi, has directed judges of the state High Court to proceed on Christmas vacation from Tuesday, December 23, 2025, to Friday, January 9, 2026.

This was contained in a statement on Thursday, signed by the Chief Registrar of the High Court, David Ihua Maduenyi.

According to the statement, the Chief Judge stated that judges will resume normal court sittings on Monday, January 12, 2026.

The directive is in line with the provisions of Order 49, Rule 4(c) of the High Court of Rivers State Civil Procedure Rules, 2023, according to the statement.

It noted that all judicial divisions of the Rivers State High Court will remain closed during the vacation.

The Chief Judge added that a vacation judge has been designated to handle only urgent applications and matters filed within the period.
