I’ve nothing against Akpabio – Senator Goje

Gombe Central senator, Danjuma Goje, has said that he does not have anything against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Goje made this statement on Wednesday in response to the tension which arose at the Senate Chamber on Tuesday after he accused Akpabio of what he described as an unparliamentary act.

DAILY POST reports that the over-30-minute uproar occurred shortly after Akpabio entered the chamber and took over the seat from his deputy, Senator Jibrin Barau, who had been presiding over the plenary.

Trouble started when Akpabio summoned the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele (APC Ekiti Central), and others to approach the chair for discussion. Goje opposed the move.

Reacting to the incident, Goje said, “Nothing personal against the Senate President or against any senator, and I want the social media to please take note because it was reported yesterday that some people said ‘Goje challenged the Senate President’ or ‘there was drama.’ There was no drama.”
