The lawmaker representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos, has confirmed the abduction of 15 farmers from Ungwan Nungu in the Bokana Ward of Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State
In a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna, the lawmaker while condemning the abduction of the peasant farmers who were returning from their farms by bandits, described the incident as “cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable”.
According to him, the abduction, which happened on Saturday, November 29, 2025, has created widespread anxiety in the community, with families desperately awaiting updates on their loved ones.
He further explained that the incident highlights the worsening insecurity faced by rural communities.
“Our people deserve to live without fear. The targeting of peaceful, hardworking residents is unacceptable and must not be allowed to continue,” the lawmaker said.
Amos urged residents of Ungwan Nungu and nearby communities to remain calm and avoid taking actions that could worsen the situation.
He further appealed for increased vigilance and cooperation with security agencies, just as he called for a well-coordinated security operation to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.
“I urge security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the abducted persons. We expect improved surveillance, intelligence-led operations and the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible,” he added.
Amos expressed solidarity with the affected families and assured them that efforts were underway to secure the victims’ release.
“We share in the pain of the families. We will continue to push for every necessary step until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and well-being of his constituents, insisting that communities must not lose hope despite growing security challenges.
