Following the killing of three Immigration officers in last week’s suspected Lakurawa terror attack in Bakin Ruwa, the Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State, CP Bello M. Sani, on Monday paid a condolence visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service Command in Birnin Kebbi.
Arriving at the command headquarters at about 12:50 pm, the CP and members of his management team met with the Acting Comptroller, DCO M.I. Chinoko, to commiserate with the officers over what he described as “a painful loss to the entire security family”.
The CP prayed that Almighty Allah grants the departed officers eternal rest and gives their families the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
He explained that the tragedy was not an Immigration affair alone but a collective blow to all security agencies in the state, saying that an injury to one is an injury to all. According to him, what affects the Immigration Service affects the police because they are one team committed to protecting Kebbi State.
The CP assured the joint resolve of security agencies to intensify efforts against criminal elements, stressing that their commitment to safeguarding lives and property remains unwavering.
The Acting Comptroller, Chinoko, expressed gratitude for the show of solidarity, pointing out that that the police boss had demonstrated leadership by example.
Chinoko stated, “Your visit at this difficult time speaks volumes. We appreciate your support and your dedication to strengthening synergy among security agencies in Kebbi State.”
The visit ended with special prayers led by the Command’s Chief Imam, ASP Suleiman Baffa, for the repose of the slain officers.
