Insecurity: Terrorists not foreigners but Nigerians – Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has said that the terrorists terrorizing northern Nigeria are not foreigners but citizens of the country.

Sani made this statement on Thursday via his X handle.

His comment comes against the backdrop of renewed bandit attacks on Nigerian citizens.

DAILY POST reports that at least 24 schoolgirls were kidnapped in Kebbi State; however, they have since regained their freedom.

Similarly, over 200 schoolchildren were abducted by bandits from a Catholic private school in Niger State, out of which 50 reportedly escaped and were reunited with their families.

Reacting, the former lawmaker said, “The terrorists killing people in the north-eastern part of Nigeria are not from Congo; they’re not from Malawi. They’re northerners, and they’re Muslims.

“The bandits in the north-western parts of Nigeria are not from Senegal; they are Fulanis from the north-west of Nigeria. It is for us to solve the problem. When will the north address this problem?”
