Let’s support Tinubu to tackle insecurity – Pastor Ashimolowo begs Nigerians

A renowned Christian cleric, Matthew Ashimolowo of the Kingsways International Christian Centre (KICC), has urged Nigerians to support the government of President Bola Tinubu in the fight to eliminate insecurity from the country.

Ashimolowo made the appeal on Thursday while responding to questions in an interview on Sunrise Daily, a programme on Channels Television, monitored by DAILY POST.

He stated that the Tinubu administration is committed to making a difference in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity.

“Nigeria needs a turnaround. Let’s stand behind our president now that he has called for more policing, more soldiers.

“Let’s raise the security level, make our people proud to be Nigerians, let’s tap into the brain of our nation, and also recognize global Africa.

“Every African nation wants to be Nigerians. They are so proud of us, Nigerians. We are the toughest, strongest, boldest, and most fearless. This is the nation we are, and I believe we have a leadership that wants to make things work. Let’s support and be behind him (Tinubu),” the KICC founder said.

DAILY POST reports that Nigeria is battling a myriad of security challenges, ranging from banditry to terrorism and kidnapping for ransom.

Recall that on Wednesday, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency on insecurity and announced the recruitment of more security personnel to help address the challenge.

“Today, in view of the emerging security situation, I have decided to declare a nationwide security emergency and order additional recruitment into the Armed Forces.

“By this declaration, the police and the army are authorised to recruit more personnel. The police will recruit an additional 20,000 officers, bringing the total to 50,000,” Tinubu said.
