Niger State Police command has neutralized an armed robber dressed in a military uniform during gun fire exchange with a group of robbers along the Lambata-Maje-Suleja road in the state.
The robbers, targeting motorists were confronted by the police near Numbawa/Malam-karo point.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun in a statement said the incident occurred on November 20, 2025, after a tip-off about robbers targeting motorists along the Lambata-Maje-Suleja road.
He explained that during the shootout, one suspect, dressed in a military uniform, was neutralized, while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
“The police patrol team engaged the suspects at police check point near Numbawa/Malam-karo, killing one and scattering the others, who fled with gunshot wounds, ” the PRO stated. .
The police authorities disclosed that items recovered include an improvised wooden gun, a phone, and a torch light from the scene.
Abiodun added that the deceased suspect was taken to Suleja hospital morgue, while the area has been secured to restore normalcy.
