Christian group holds prayer in Abia, seeks Israel’s support for development of South East

The Nigerian chapter of Africa- Israeli Initiative, a Christian group has held a prayer and marched in the streets of Umuahia, seeking the support of Israel for the development of Abia and other South East States.

The areas of need, according to the group, include technology, agriculture information technology, education, medical industry, and political stability.

The prayer march which was held in Umuahia on Tuesday, was organized by AII Nigerian chapter and was attended by priests drawn from different Christian denominations, including those of the Jewish religion.

Speaking during the event, the country director of Africa Israeli Initiative, Bishop Sally William Chinebu said the prayers were simultaneously held in twenty-eight different countries, including Kenya, Ghana, the United States, UK and twenty-four other countries of the world.

According to her, there is a plan by her organization to build a pilgrimage centre, schools , hospital and large agriculture establishment in the South East, with the support of Israeli and African partnership.

” We are going to partner with our Jewish brothers all over the world, particularly those who believe that Israel and Africa should work together. With time, the project would be unfolded,” Bishop Chinebu said.

She further said that the initiative prayed for political stability and high level security system in Nigeria.

The country director, who said she had written to some South East political leaders about the objectives of the Africa Israeli Initiative, denied being sponsored by any politician, activist or political party.

Members of the group also flaunted Israeli and Nigerian flags while marching through the streets of Umuahia on Tuesday.
