The RHWDP, a key government initiative, seeks to boost economic activities, improve livelihoods, and strengthen social protection at the grassroots level.
A statement from the NGF Secretariat indicated that Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, will serve as the committee’s Vice Chairman.
Other presidential appointees representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones include: North-East: Governor Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), South-South: Governor Douye Diri (Bayelsa), South-West: Governor Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), South-East: Governor Peter Mbah (Enugu), North-West: Governor Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina), and North-Central: Governor Hyacinth Alia (Benue).
Given the committee’s pressing mandate, its inaugural session took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat in Abuja.
Chaired by Governor AbdulRazaq, the meeting represents a significant step toward implementing President Tinubu’s ward-level development strategy across the nation’s 8,809 wards.
