Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman scored his first goal in five months to help Atalanta force AC Milan to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
After a tough summer, Lookman has reclaimed his position as a starter for Atalanta, and he started once again when they welcomed the Rossoneri to the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
The game was supposed to be a close one, but AC Milan got off to a fine start, with Samuel Ricci scoring the opener inside of four minutes.
After going a goal down, Atalanta responded very well and started pushing for the equalizer. But they had to wait until the 35th minute before getting it, and it was Lookman who turned up.
The Super Eagles star received a fine pass from Mario Pasalic in the box and smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 1-1.
Both teams took the 1-1 scoreline into the break. But in the second half, things were a bit tighter, as both teams had very few chances.
There was just one big chance in the second period, and that fell to AC Milan, who failed to convert. After 90 minutes, it ended 1-1 at the Gewiss Stadium.
Ademola Lookman Will Be Looking To Build On His Performance
Now that Ademola Lookman has scored, he will be happy to get the monkeys off his back, at least for now.
After Atalanta last game against Cremonese, which they dominated but failed to score, coach Ivan Juric called on Lookman to start scoring again. Fortunately, he finally scored.
The Super Eagles star can be streaky, so he will now look to continue his goalscoring form for Atalanta.
