Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, was among the 150 people arrested during a late-night raid carried out by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at a nightclub in Lagos.
The operation took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday when NDLEA officials stormed Proxy Nightclub on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, following intelligence reports about a suspected drug-related party.
Naija News reports that those arrested included Lagos socialite Mike Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike.
Tuoyo, who took part in the BBNaija “Pepper Dem” edition, said he was taken alongside several others despite committing no offence.
He narrated on his Instagram story that they were ordered to sit on the floor at the NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi while their phones were seized.
The reality star expressed frustration over the incident, describing it as unfair.
He wrote: “I have been arrested by the NDLEA from a night club in Lagos for basically nothing at all since around 4am. They made us sit down like criminals. We are over 150 people here till now that were carried to NDLEA headquarters, Ikoyi. We didn’t commit any crime. They came with guns inside the club and told everyone to lie down.
“They want to take our phones now the fuck. This is the height of injustice.”
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed the operation, explaining that undercover officers had monitored the event from around 11 p.m. on Saturday before the raid was executed.
He stated that substances such as cannabis, also known as loud, and nitrous oxide, commonly called laughing gas, were recovered from the venue.
According to Babafemi, all individuals present at the nightclub, including the owner, were taken into custody for questioning and further investigation.
