2026 World Cup: Paul Scholes names three players who can help England win tournament

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has identified three players who can help England win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Scholes, the Three Lions have no chance of winning the World Cup unless manager Thomas Tuchel brings the likes of Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish back into the squad.

Recall that Tuchel’s side thrashed Latvia 5-0 on Tuesday to secure qualification for the World Cup.

But Bellingham, Grealish and Foden were not part of the England squad that defeated Latvia and Scholes was surprised by their omission.

“I was a little bit surprised. Those three players [Bellingham, Grealish and Foden], they have to be in his [Tuchel’s] squad and they will be in his squad for the World Cup,” Scholes said on The Overlap.

“If you look at the squad now, you would say they have virtually no chance of winning the World Cup. Even with those three players, it is still a big ask, but it gives you more of a chance of winning the cup.

“Jude Bellingham has missed a little bit of football, but he is fit now, so I would have brought him back in.

“Thomas Tuchel has not got many games left now until the World Cup actually starts, it is only the November break and then the March one, and then we are there, so we need to get these players playing.”
