2026 WCQ: Ikpeba hails two Super Eagles players after win over Benin

Former Super Eagles forward Victor Ikpeba has lauded the performances of Frank Onyeka and Moses Simon following Nigeria’s 4-0 victory over the Benin Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.

Ikpeba praised Simon for delivering a beautiful cross to Onyeka and commended the Brentford midfielder for his well-taken goal against Benin.

A hat-trick from Victor Osimhen and a goal from Onyeka secured all three points for Eric Chelle’s side against Gernot Rohr’s team.

“It is a technically brilliant goal. You have to position your body; the cross from Simon was beautiful,” Ikpeba told SuperSport.
“It is the type of goal a striker wants to score. Give credit to the midfielder, Onyeka; he bends his leg and body perfectly and slots it in.”

The victory over Benin means Nigeria have qualified for the World Cup playoffs, where they will face Gabon in November.
